A Chinese sensor manufacturer has launched new custom multi‑point thermocouples for harsh high‑temperature and high‑pressure working conditions in petrochemical, metallurgy and new‑energy industries, advancing the localization of industrial temperature‑measuring sensors.
Based on the Seebeck thermoelectric effect, thermocouples generate a thermoelectric potential from the temperature difference between two junctions to measure temperature. Unlike single‑point models, the new multi‑point thermocouple integrates multiple measuring points inside one protective sleeve. A single probe can collect temperature data from several positions simultaneously, simplifying on‑site wiring and saving installation space.
Supporting major thermocouple grades including K, N, E, J and T, the product adopts corrosion‑resistant alloy sleeves. It works under up to 15 MPa pressure with fast thermal response, suitable for reactors, industrial furnaces and electrolytic cells.
For a long time, high‑end multi‑point temperature sensors mainly relied on imports. After field tests at several energy and chemical enterprises, the home‑grown product delivers stable measurement performance.
Industry insiders noted that temperature sensors act as critical monitoring components for process industry safety. Domestic sensor enterprises will continue optimizing products for extreme operating conditions to support local heavy‑industry development.
