On the morning of January 8, 2017, Huadong Instrument and Meter Factory held its 2016 year-end review and awards ceremony.
The meeting officially commenced at 9:30 a.m. Factory Director Wu Ben delivered the 2016 work summary report, first presenting the factory's overall sales performance for the year, followed by a review of operations across various areas, including human resources management, quality management, safety management, Party building, and labor union activities.
He emphasized that "safe production is our top priority," instructing the safety management department to continue strengthening safety education and training in 2017. He called for tangible improvements in the safety awareness and competence of all employees to ensure that no safety accidents occur.
He also specifically urged employees to pay attention to traffic safety during their commutes.
Wu Ben stressed, "While we have achieved results, there remain significant issues and shortcomings in our production processes." He expressed hope that in 2017, all departments would collaborate closely to effectively resolve existing problems, refine rules and regulations, and streamline production workflows, thereby ensuring orderly and efficient overall production.
The Factory Director noted, "As we face an uncertain 2017 and an increasingly challenging landscape, we must maintain persistent effort and dedication. We need to strengthen our internal capabilities and address our weaknesses. By building upon our current momentum, we aim to boost both production and sales, enabling us to navigate the 'plateau phase' of the broader economic environment steadily."
Finally, he outlined the work plan and arrangements for 2017.
Subsequently, other key department heads reported on the status of labor union activities, human resources management, and the quality management system.
The meeting also honored teams and individuals who demonstrated outstanding performance in 2016. Two exemplary teams—Electric Heating Workshop (I) and the Metalworking Workshop—along with 25 outstanding employees, including He Dan and Yao Youfeng, received commendations. Factory Director Wu Ben personally presented them with plaques, certificates of honor, and bonuses, and posed for commemorative photos. Additionally, employees Wang Xishou and Zhou Xianjin were recognized for their active participation in voluntary blood donation drives, in appreciation of their selfless contributions. To conclude the meeting, representatives of the "Advanced Workers"—He Dan, Liu Zuoyin, and Liu Siping—took the stage to share their thoughts on receiving the award from their respective professional perspectives and to make commitments regarding their work for 2017.
Following the meeting, all employees gathered in the factory courtyard for a meal and a lucky draw.
